Our Story
Mary and Alex met at First Ascent climbing gym in Uptown, Chicago, during the summer of 2024. They first talked at the wall shown in this photo, when Mary told Alex he had a good try on the climb he was working on. He got suspicious, because his "try" wasn't really all that good...
After that, Mary and Alex began climbing together more regularly, going to church together, and going out to eat at spots around the neighborhood. They became great friends in the process, and began dating soon after.
After a little over a year of doing life together, Alex proposed to Mary at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Although his proposal deserves its own section to explain, in the end, Mary said yes! (Spoiler: Alex's proposal plan included a picnic that he forgot to bring food for. Or a blanket. And it was 50 degrees and wet outside.)
All in all, we could not be more excited to get married and continue our journey together. In trusting the Lord in each step, we have grown in love and faith.
